Ways to be a Better Catholic This Summer

As school is finishing, you have more free time! Since you don’t have to wake up early in the morning for school, you could start your day with a few minutes of silent prayer, or you could go to morning Mass at Holy Family at 9.

Also, there are lots of Catholic camps or activities to do this summer. For example, the Family Life Conference (which already passed), Vacation Bible School, Camp St. Louis, Ignite and many more. Every one of these camps are great ways to grow in your faith with others.

Make a goal to pray a certain prayer every day for the entire summer, and do it! Family prayer is a very good way to strengthen your faith, and your family. Also, praying and talking about God with friends can go a long way.

Praying is usually easier if you are in a place of God, like a church or a grotto. St. Albert Parish has a beautiful grotto near the back of the property, and you can go there to pray.

You could look up the feast days of saints in July and August, and pray to them on that day. Some examples are, St. Maria Goretti (July 6th), St. Kateri (July 14th), St. Edith Stein (August 9th), and St. Maximilliam Kolbe (August 14th). You can find other feast days at catholic.org.

My faith is the most important part of me, and I hope that this summer everyone can grow deeper in their faith. I hope that they can see that our God is amazing, and that there is nothing better.
